Privacy notice

WorkoutMyFinance is a personal finance planner. This notice explains what information it holds about you, why, and what you can do about it. The service is operated by Ember Web, United Kingdom, which is the data controller.
What we hold
- Account details — your name, email address and a hashed password.
- What you enter — income, outgoings, savings, goals, debts, assets, budgets and settings.
- Bank data, only if you connect a bank — account names, balances and transactions (date, amount, description, counterparty) from the accounts you choose to link. Access is read-only: the service cannot move money or change anything at your bank.
- Technical records — server logs with IP addresses and timestamps, kept briefly for security and troubleshooting.
Why we use it
To provide the service you asked for: projecting your balance, matching bank transactions to your plan, tracking budgets, goals, debts and net worth, and sending you the alerts you switch on. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone for their own purposes. The legal basis is performance of our contract with you; for bank data it is your explicit consent, which you give at your bank and can withdraw at any time.
Bank connections
Bank access is provided through Enable Banking Oy, a registered Account Information Service Provider regulated by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority. When you connect a bank you authorise it directly with your bank; we never see your online banking credentials. Consent lasts up to 90 days and you can end it earlier by disconnecting the bank in the app or at your bank. Enable Banking's own privacy notice covers their processing.
Where it is kept and for how long
Your data is stored in a database controlled by us and is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account from the Settings page removes everything, including imported bank data, immediately. Disconnecting a bank removes that bank's accounts and transactions.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data (the Export page gives you most of it directly), have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Email us at the address below and we will respond within one month.
